About the Author
Prologue
The book of poems is personal writings of my life and experiences. The challenges, I faced and the love one, I lost so long ago. I have found strength and encouragement from those around me, and from the writing.
I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoying writing, and that you feel the compassion or pain, I did. These poems have been written over the course of twelve years, and I continue writing them to this day.
Relationships
CAN You Find It in Your Heart
Can you find it in your heart to forgive?
Can you go to the person and look him stay in the eye and
Say, “I forgive you?”
Do you still hold a grudge against the person who has let you down?
Isn’t time to let down your guard?
Do we have the right to judge those around us?
Do we have the right to poke fingers at?
Who is he that is without sin?
What right do we have to get angry?
Are we ill, because we have been mistreated?
Does this mean we should let them walk all over us?
NO!
Does this mean we should stay with the person who has been abusive to us?
NO!
Does this mean we should listen to hatred words and be ridicule by others?
NO!
Can you find it in your heart to forgive?
Can you find it in your heart to love?
Turn back the past of time,
Bring it forward into today.
Let those around you know you care.
Let those around you know you love.
Let those around you know you forgive.
Do not hold a grudge.
Open up your home and invite them in.
Stir up kindness
Stir up love.
Stir up Forgiveness,
And you will stir up
Peace.
Can you find it in your heart to forgive?
Can you find it in your heart to turn off the past?
Can you find it in your heart to listen?
Invite hugs.
Invite laughter.
Invite love.
It will return.
Broken Promises
Battered and bruised, twisted and torn, confused! Which
Way to turn, a prisoner at home.
Not one, not two, not three, but four in all.
Are torn in pain, hurt, sadness,
Fills the air. She tells her
Family, things will get better,
Promises, she hopes to keep.
A relationship running into dead ends,
A dark man's lies to keep her still.
Fives years is too long,
Time to flee, time to escape,
From this insane massive beast.
"When?" She asks, "When will we
Go?"
"Don’t push me!" Is his response?
Another year, she waits.
Believing things will get better, but
Are still the same.
"Why?" she asks,
"Why did I ever get involved?
Why do I continue to believe?
Is it because?
He cares for me and my children?"
She stands there wandering.
She looks back
On her past, wishing she changed,
Wishing she had done better.
She feels she let her children down.
Broken promises, four years past,
Everything is still the same.
He hides in the dark,
And makes insults behind people's back.
He can be sweet, this beast.
He can be caring, this beast.
He can be funny, this beast.
Love has fallen through the cracks.
Will he change? Time will tell.
Love is not
Love is not someone who pulls you down.
Who lies to you.
Who yells at your kids.
Who break promises.
Who is lies to your family.
Love is not someone who thinks they are the one, who has to call all of the shots.
Who treats your adult children like little kids.
Love is someone who builds you up.
Who gives you hope.
Who is there for you.
Who doesn't lie to you.
Who guides you.
Love is someone, you know you can come home to and know you are safe.
Overcoming A Lost
LIKE A THIEF
Like a thief in the night you came.
In the darkness, you called her named.
With open arms, she accepted Your embraced.
Hand in hand you led her up those stairs to that special place.
There is no time or reason of what the love of God can do.
He touched her heart and gave her life and life she gave back to us, with love and laughter too.
Teddy bears, kitty cats, and Barbie dolls are all left behind.
Tickly fingers up my back are memories close to my heart.
Silly sayings, Power Puff drawings, and Sponge Bob too,
Are not far from my mind.
What good is it?
What good is a hand?
If there is no hand,
To hold.
What good is a face?
If there is no face to touch.
No scratches to bandage.
No hugs to give back.
No kisses to kiss.
Beyond
Beyond the hills.
Beyond the trees.
Beyond the skies.
Beyond the stars.
To a place, where many people know about,
But don't know how to get there,
But through one gate and one gate only.
The gate that ends one life and journey's into the next.
A life of eternity.
A life of everlasting.
A life where no time, no years, no months exist.
A dwelling, a place, a kingdom, more beautiful
Than you can imagine.
More spectacular than you can wish for.
This is where my little girl rests.
Where she eats.
Where she sleeps
Where she plays.
Where she listens.
Where she learns.
Where she grows.
Where she sings.
Where is writes.
Where she draws.
Where she follows.
Where she is walks in hand in hand with our Lord Jesus.
This is where my little girl, Katrina dwells, and this where I want to be.
I really miss you Katrina,
Love your,
Mommy
Blue skies have turn gray
The blue skies
Have turned gray.
The laughter has turn
To tears.
My heart stops pounding.
My little girl’s hand has slip away.
My little girl's smile
I cannot see.
I cannot feel.
I cannot hear.
My little girl's laughs.
My little girl's smile.
My little girl's touch.
Inspirational and others
Where there is life.
Where there is life,
There is k
indness.
Where there is love,
There are abundances.
Where there is forgiveness,
There is thankfulness.
Where they is beauty,
There is radiant.
Where there is giving,
There is intelligent.
Where there is thoughtfulness,
There is a since of being nice.
Where there was life,
There isn't any more.
DIED FOR ME
IS IT NOT I, WHO STANDS IN JUDGEMENT BEFORE THE ALL MIGHT?
IS IT NOT I, WHO HAS FALLEN INTO SIN?
IS IT NOT I, WHO HAS FALLEN FAR FROM HIS GRACE?
YET I KNOW BECAUSE HIS SON DIED FOR ME, I AM FREE FROM ALL SIN.
D.E.A.T.H
Do tell them, they can
Enter into a wondrous world
Awesome beauty and delight
To touch the hand of God,
Heavens' Delight.
A dog's mind
I don't understand.
Why my master cleans his hands.
After he pets me.
He Sees
He sees things you do not see.
He hears things you do not hear.
He has walk in places you have not walked.
He knows things, you do not know.
He can take you places far beyond your wildest dreams.
He is there for you, when you are not there for Him.
His arms are always open, even when you push him away.
He searches for you, when you are lost.
He keeps you close, when you keep him at a distance.
He speaks highly of you, because you are His child.
He sings to you, sweet lullabies.
He won’t let you slip, when you decide to do something daring.
He will whisk you up into His arms, every time you run to him.
He loves you, more than you know.
